Shamanism

I love the work of shamanism, when it is rooted and grounded in a down to earth and physical practice. There is nothing fantastical about it, it is ordinary and strongly connected to nature, to our lives and to all forces. We can expect in this work to discover more about ourselves our historys, and our connection to the planet, as well as the healing that needs to be done here. It is about taking responsibility for all things.

In my own discoveries through my life I have learnt the way of 'seeing' from the point of view of a fascinated, curious mind. When my imagination ran wild, I believed in it, when I dreamt I took notice. These were all methods of learning, and being taught to be directed by Spirit, and by my own heart and soul. I take the teachings seriously, and I take myself less so. As a child I danced, and as an adult I bring into this dance my own journey work, poetry, dreams, inspirations and life experience.

The 5Rhythms™, a more modern day structure for movement, has helped me to ground these experiences into a daily/weekly practice. It has helped me to bring my life and my experiences into a form that I can teach from. For me this has been a route to healing a difficult childhood and much struggle along this life's path. It is a route to grace, personal freedom, positive action, acceptance of all that is and a life long spiritual path.

We can discover, embody and dance with our power animals & Spirit allies.
Taking time to journey with the drumbeat & to move with and without music. We can explore what it is to know our ‘own’ power animals and allies. Dancing with them and being danced by them can create ecstatic dynamics that bring in their wake astonishing guidance and a deepening communion with all of life.
Communicating with them offers us additional knowledge and empowering typically bringing about an unveiling of parts of ourselves rarely if ever before encountered.

There are many challenges in this life of unpredictability. Often there are patterns in our lives connected to our ancestry that we may need to change, whether we are aware of them or not....there may be dances that they need us to dance for them.

In this work we learn to connect more deeply with our ancestors by simply stepping out of our own way and allowing their dances to flow through us. This is a place for deep humbleness in allowing them to be our teachers.
This is the work I love to be student to and to teach to others, whether as individuals or as groups of many. It is about love, healing and about opening our hearts. I look forward to working, playing and dancing with you on this ecstatic and fascinating journey.

There is no place that this work cannot benefit.

Always with love and a dep respect for all things, Caroline x.

Caroline has taken part in a variety of shamanic experiences from modern day to very ancient traditions like buriels, sweat lodges and fire walking. As well as active roles in ceremony and ritual.

She works closely with Ya'Acov Darling Khan and the School of Movement Medicine, with movement, ritual and ceremony, where some of her deepest work has unfolded.

She considers modern day struggles and sufferings (i.e. overcoming abuse in many forms,) to be part of that journey for many.
Caroline has also trained and studied with the Sacred Trust (foundation for shamanic studies) with Simon Buxton, and has worked with Ya’Acov Darling Khan, Gabrielle Roth, Chris Luttichau and other extraordinary and profound shamanic teachers from around the world.

"Caroline Carey is a shamanic healer and teacher, who has dived deeply into the rich dark roots of the shamanic path and danced within its primal landscapes. I am very pleased that she has now chosen to share her skills in accessing the ecstatic abandonment that shamanism brings for healing and transformation: you are in good hands."
