BROKEN BONES

In December '07 I attended the extended Ritual group where we worked solely with the practice of Recapitulation. This is work that Ya'Acov has been developing since his experiences of 'doing it in a black box' and now thankfully has developed it into a movement practice.....(much gratitude Ya'Acov, my claustrophobia would not have permitted that :-)

I’ve experienced recapitulation a few times now in workshops like pro-creation and the Ongoing groups and made it a study I worked with at home as well. It is extremely powerful and very liberating.
During my recapitulations last month at the Rill Centre I was called to work with an old ancestral story that some how related to my life now. I believe we carry these stories on from our ancestors and it is for their benefit as well as our own that we can find ways to heal them and do the work they were not able to do themselves.

I was called to work with an old ancestor of mine, my great grandmother, Caroline Amelia Carey - yes I was named after her. She was married to a man who broke his back in a work accident. She carried a lot for him and had a very tough life. Her sister had died and left a small baby for her to look after as well as her own child, my Grandfather. She took in other peoples washing to make her living. Her husband eventually died at about 40, leaving her alone and struggling with no support.

During the recapitulation I felt her energy and what she was carrying. Iin fact the pain in my back could well have been connected to both of them...his broken back and her heavy load of washing! I can of course relate to that having six children :-)

After working on this during the exercise I felt a lot of energy and release.

After the workshop I returned home to prepare for Christmas and to be with my children. While I had been away my son, Gareth, who is a singer song writer and very talented. had written a piece of music and words to a quite beautiful song, called 'Broken Bones'. Nothing clicked in me to begin with.
However, just after Christmas my brother sent a photo of our great grandfather...the one with the broken back which I shared with my sons - Their Great Great Grandfather.
Gareth was fascinated with this picture but I did not yet tell him about the broken back or the rest of his story.

But when he put the photo of his Great Great Grandfather next to the piece of music called ‘Broken Bones’ on his MySpace page, at last something clicked in me and I realized that there was a connection in these stories.!!

I thought I would send you that piece of music. I am so moved by it. Coincidences ? I don’t think so.

I have come to realize over time that by doing this work, it not only touches me and gives me healing energy but has an affect on my family around me. Gareth’s new piece of music has become very popular and is about to be recorded onto his new ep/album.
We have struggled particularly at the lack of male support in our family so it feels good to hear from a far that 'he' is reaching out.

It touches me deeply and I can’t help feeling that my ancestor is there in support of his family and has a message to send to us.

I don’t believe it is a coincidence that these events happened at the same time. I believe we can all affect each other, through out the world, by simple acts of prayer, meditation and re-capitulation.

I am very happy to be offering healing work that connects us and helps us to heal our ancestral histories.
And I would heartfully like to recommend Ya'Acov’s recapitulation work... for the love of all our relations, past future and present.
